InFocus Adds DisplayLink Support for Mac

InFocus announced Wednesday that it's adding Mac support to its line of DisplayLink-enabled projectors. The new driver is available now to support existing InFocus projectors on the Mac, and a new InFocus DisplayLink projector with built-in Mac support is slated to ship next month.

DisplayLink technology uses a computer's USB port to deliver the video signal to the projector. The technology is designed to be cross-platform, although previously it only supported various varieties of Windows. A Mac beta existed, but its functionality was limited. Now InFocus is making the driver available to support existing DisplayLink projectors on Mac OS X 10.4.11 through 10.5.5. It supports all Intel-based Mac systems.

The new driver supports the InFocus IN110 and IN3100 projector series. The InFocus DisplayLink driver for Mac can be downloaded from the company's support site here.

In addition, InFocus said it will ship a new DisplayLink-enabled projector next month, the IN3108 meeting room projector. Further information about this new projector was not available at press time.
