Technology furniture maker Anthro has launched two new charging systems designed for iPads, e-readers, and other tablet devices used in schools.

The new Tablet Charging Cart is a mobile charging cart that can hold up to 40 iPads (including cases) in individual, numbered charging bays. The unit also offers Anthro's optional Sync Kit, which provides a 10-port USB hub for synchronizing up to 10 tablet devices simultaneously.

Other features include:

  • Keyed door locks with two-point locking system;
  • Cable management features for quick connections;
  • Padlock mounting points;
  • A separate back locking door for accessing cables and adapters;
  • Three power ports for external devices;
  • Power on/off and power indicator light; and
  • 4-inch locking casters.

The Tablet Charging Cart measures 24" (H) x 24" (D) x 46" (H) and has a recessed top workspace for holding a projector or laptop, along with a separate locking area for a laptop. An optional under-mounted storage drawer holds peripherals.

 The Anthro Tablet Charging Cabinet holds up to 20 tablets and a laptop.

The company has also started shipping the Anthro Tablet Charging Cabinet, a wall-mounted charging station that can hold 20 individual tablet devices. The cabinet measures 21" (W) x 12" (D) x 24" (H) and includes two main locking compartments--a front area with 20 numbered charging bays and a side area for IT access. There's also a laptop computer bay accessible through the front area.

Like the Tablet Charging Cart, the Tablet Charging Cabinet offers support for Anthro's optional 10-port Sync Kit, cable management, power on/off, and power indicator light. With 22 power ports, it can supply power to 20 tablets, a laptop, and one extra device.

Both the Tablet Charging Cart and Tablet Charging Cabinet are available now. Additional details can be found on Anthro's site.
