New Service Connects Schools to Funding Sources
CDW-G has launched a new service designed to connect colleges, universities, and K-12 schools with grants and funding opportunities.
GetEdFunding.com provides details on active grants (currently about 600) for elementary, secondary, and post-secondary institutions. A search tool allows users to find grants based on focus (such as technology, STEM, disaster relief, library, etc.), content area (arts, math, etc.), 21st century skills theme (critical thinking, collaboration, etc.), grade level, and eligibility requirements.
The listings themselves provide:
- Links to application Web sites;
- Grant contact information;
- A description of the grant and eligibility requirements, including geographical;
- Awards;
- Deadlines; and
- Relevant themes, content areas, and 21st century skills.
Searches can be saved, and users can sign up to receive e-mail notifications when new grants in their areas of interest are added.
The site also includes additional resources for educational institutions and will include tips from successful grant writers "in the coming months," according to CDW-G.
"GetEdFunding comes at a critical time for education professionals, who have to do more and deliver more. They have to be creative in how they fund these programs," said Julie Smith, vice president for K-12 education, CDW-G, in a prepared statement. "Dedicating staff resources to identify and apply for grants and awards is not always practical. GetEdFunding does most of the advance work for schools and universities in search of private and government funding. It should prove to be an invaluable resource."
The service is free with registration. Further details can be found at GetEdFunding.com.
