Minnesota Schools Add Secunia for Preferred Patch Management Software

Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MNSCU) is adding a patch management to its system-wide software recommendations. Under the new agreement, 38 MNSCU campuses will have access to Secunia Corporate Software Inspector (CSI), which combines scanning and patching of legitimate applications running on Windows, Apple Mac OS X, Google Android, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems. The schools will also be able to call on services from Now Micro for installation, configuration, and support.

The university system, which also uses software from Lumension for patch management in at least 12 of its institutions, sought an additional solution that would cover multiple applications and integrate well with its existing deployment tools, such as Microsoft System Center 2012 Configuration Manager.

"We look forward to working closely with MNSCU to further secure its IT infrastructure," said Neil Butchart, vice president of North America for Secunia. "CSI software offers an integrated and automated approach to handling vulnerabilities that will boost MNSCU's Internet, network and endpoint security."

Secunia's products are also in use by Indiana University, the University of Florida and the University of Oxford.
