Aspen U to Replace LMS by Fall

Aspen University has announced plans to replace its current LMS by the end of this year, motivated in part by the need for greater analytics tools and student engagement tracking.

The university has selected Desire2Learn’s LMS platform, and plans to have it ready by this fall. According to information released by the university, the switch will give students access to a new set of tools, including multi-platform support, media-rich courses, and “an intuitive curriculum.”

In a statement, the university said the platform change is just the latest in a long line of modernizations. "This is the final step in the transformation of Aspen University into a world-class distance-learning institution,” said Michael Matthews, the university’s chairman and CEO. “We began with vertically-integrating our marketing function thereby dropping our cost of enrollment to sub-$750. Resulting from those favorable economics, we then launched a breakthrough monthly payment plan to allow our students the ability to earn a degree debt free. We recently appointed one of the top academic leaders in the post-secondary distance learning sector, Cheri St. Arnauld. Finally, we're excited to provide our students with the very best academic learning system in the marketplace."
