Two of the smallest 5,000-lumen projectors available have just entered the education market.

NEC Display Solutions has introduced the P502WL and P502HL laser phosphor projector models. The new installation projectors are highly flexible with horizontal and vertical lens shift, enhanced keystone correction and an input panel that features three digital connections.

The laser-light modules mean each projector can be expected to run for 20,000 hours and remain virtually maintenance-free. The P502WL has WXGA resolution while the P502HL's resolution is 1080p. An Image Express Lite Utility Function allows up to 16 devices to connect wirelessly to the projector at the same time, and thumbnail images give presenters the ability to toggle back and forth between sources quickly.

"The beauty of laser phosphor projectors is their limitless ability to support applications in a variety of industries," said NEC Display Senior Product Manager Richard McPherson.

Other features of the new P series projectors include:

  • Quick start and power off
  • Up to 15,000:1 contrast ratio
  • Manual zoom and focus
  • WiFi Miracast
  • Tilt-free and portrait mode
  • 3D and adjustable light source.

The P502Wl and P502HL have three-year limited parts and labor warranties and will carry minimum retail prices of $3,499 and $4,599 respectively. For more information, visit the NEC site.
