Box Delivers New Integrations With Microsoft

In an effort to make it easier for people to work with their Microsoft Office documents stored in Box, the content management and collaboration platform has introduced three new integrations with Microsoft products. Integrations with Office Online, including real-time co-authoring, and Office for iOS are available now. Integration with Outlook.com will be available to personal users of Box in the coming weeks.

The integrations between Microsoft and Box let people store their documents in the cloud on Box and work with them in Microsoft Office, adding to the list of Microsoft products that work together with Box. The online file storage and sharing service previously introduced integrations with Office 365 on the desktop and Office for iPad and iPhone. The company also offers the Box app for Windows 10 and Outlook apps for iPhone and iPad.

New Box integrations with Microsoft include:

  • Box for Office Online with real-time co-authoring, which lets multiple users work with Word, Excel and PowerPoint files concurrently, and edits from all users are automatically saved in Box;
  • Box integration with Office for iOS now lets people create and edit Office files saved in Box directly from the Word, Excel and PowerPoint apps for iOS; and
  • Box integration with Outlook.com lets people attach files stored in Box to outgoing e-mail messages, eliminating the need to download them to the desktop before attaching them to an e-mail.

On Feb. 4, Box will host a webinar about ways organizations can take advantage of the latest integrations between Box and Microsoft.

More information about Box integration with Microsoft products can be found on the Box site.
