Utah State Tech Sends Wireless Reports on Livestock Heath

Utah State University's College of Agriculture signed a deal with TekVet, a Utah-based developer of agricultural technologies, to use its wireless TekVet System in its research efforts with beef and dairy cattle. The TekVet system involves installing wireless sensors, “TekSensors,” on live animals to provide vital real-time health data via the Internet. DeeVon Bailey, a USU professor of agricultural economics, said the “ability to track, trace, and monitor the health condition of individual animals is a monumental leap towards better understanding animal well-being in different research situations.”

Indian Business Academy Deals for Wireless Campus Tech

The Indian Business Academy, a graduate business school in Bangalore, India, made a deal with wireless infrastructure provider Proxim, Inc., to build a campus-wide public Internet access network and building-to-building wide-area network at the school. The network will be designed and installed by Envision Network Technologies, Ltd., a systems integrator. Proxim is a subsidiary of Terabeam Inc.
