Flip-top Desk Accessory For iPads Offers Enhanced Security Features

Classroom furniture manufacturer SmartDesks has just launched iPad flipIT, a new built-in desk accessory designed for iPads.

iPad flipIT, a steel frame enclosure mounted to a rotating flip lid, supports iPads in portrait or landscape position. The enclosure comes with port hole for the camera lens and home button snap-in panel, which allows instructors to prevent students from changing apps when using the device during class time.

The iPad storage unit comes with a number of security features. The enclosure can only be attached to or removed from the flip lid using a specially designed hex key, not available in stores. The unit, which flips under the desk when not in use, includes a key to lock the lid when it's closed. The USB cable that runs through the enclosure keeps the stored iPads connected to a power source and cannot be removed once installed.

iPad flipIT is an optional feature for SmartDesk's iGroup Collaboration Tables and Quint Mobile Conference Collaboration Tables. Additional information is located at the company's Web site.
