Cybersecurity Company Launches Academic Program

Security and automation software company HelpSystems has launched an academic program to put its products into the hands of education providers. The new program will provide instructors and cyber team captains with free licenses for use in their studies.

To qualify, the institution must provide traditional classroom learning, whether college or certificate; produce cybersecurity education events, such as workshops; or put on cybersecurity challenges, such as hackathons or capture-the-flag competitions.

"With the cybersecurity skills shortage worsening, getting students real-world, hands-on experience with industry leading cybersecurity tools … gives them experience they'll need for their security jobs after graduation," said Brian Wenngatz, HelpSystems general manager of cybersecurity, in a press release. "Our program also benefits the institutions, allowing them to educate the 'security professionals of the future' by offering up-to-date security-related training that is based on industry best practices."

Details about applying are available on the HelpSystems website.
