Lombardi Accepts Mellon Award
Julian Lombardi, the assistant VP for Academic Services and Technology at Duke University, accepted a prestigious award this past December for Duke of $100,000 from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, for leadership and development work in advancing the Croquet environment in open source. The Croquet open source development environment allows software developers to create and link collaborative cross-platform multi-user 2D and 3D applications and simulations. The award, presented by Timothy Berners-Lee, was one of ten Mellon Awards for Technology and Collaboration (MATC) given in 2007.
