U Nevada to Manage IT Projects with TeamDynamix

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas will be using Web-based tools from TeamDynamix to manage its IT projects. Following a successful pilot, the Office of Information Technology expects to perform a group-by-group rollout and will use the online service to plan IT projects, create timelines, monitor progress, and provide senior management with project updates.

The environment provides a central location for managing all projects in an organization. A portfolio planning tool allows users to manage project requests, prioritize and score all potential projects, and streamline the project startup and staffing process. Project dashboards provide a visual image of what people need to work on for the day and what issues are surfacing in the projects.

"TeamDynamix understands the higher education market, and we decided to deploy the company's solution because it met the unique needs of our environment," said Wonda Yuhasz, WebCT coordinator for the university. "Prior to TeamDynamix, we did not have consolidated portfolio management processes, so members of our team used a variety of tools to manage their workload, from spreadsheets to project management solutions such as Microsoft Project or SharePoint. I anticipate TeamDynamix will allow us to consolidate our team under a single [project and portfolio management] system to manage all of our IT needs and resources. We will be able to pull detailed reports and provide our leadership with the information they need to make strategic decisions."

TeamDynamix is currently used by Syracuse University in New York, Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, and Ohio State University in Columbus.
