'Entry-Level' Installation Projectors Blast up to 4,200 Lumens

NEC's new P-series projectors offer XGA or WXGA resolutions and a 2,000:1 contrast ratio.

NEC Display Solutions is launching three new sub-$2,000 installation projectors with wireless capabilities.

The new projectors--the P350X, the P350W, and the P420X--are LCD-based units that offer RS-232 control, RJ-45 connectivity, and 802.11 b/g/n wireless LAN access.

The P350X and the P420X offer native resolutions of 1,024 x 768 (XGA), while the P350W features a native resolution of 1,280 x 800 (WXGA). Both the P350X and the P350W produce a brightness of 3,500 lumens. The P420X offers a brightness of 4,200 lumens.

Features common to all three projectors include a contrast ratio of 2,000: 1, a 1.7x optical zoom, ±30 degree automatic or manual keystone correction, and a 10 watt speaker.

Other features include Autosense with one touch image optimization and wall color correction that adjusts color tone for images or videos projected on non-white surfaces.

Ports include two RGB mini D-sub 15-pin video inputs, HDMI, RCA, S-Video, RCA audio in, 3.5 mm stereo audio out jack, and USB.

All three projectors will ship this month and be covered by a three-year parts and labor warranty. The P420X will be available for $1,999, while the P350W and P350X will be available for $1,799 and $1,649, respectively.
