Omnilert Adds TTY and Call-in Services to Emergency Notification

Omnilert has widened the reach of its emergency notification service with a couple of new addons. e2Campus uAlert version 3.4 adds an option to broadcast mass alerts in text telephony (TTY) to devices for the deaf and hearing-impaired. The new edition also introduces "Hotline," an optional service that provides for massively scalable inbound calling to let students and others call an emergency number to receive recorded alert messages.

According to the company, Broadcast TTY Service can reach thousands of devices a minute. Introductory pricing is $995 per year.

The company added that its new Hotline service provides capacity to handle thousands of incoming calls without callers incurring busy signals or time on hold. Hotline introductory pricing starts at $495 per year.

Both services are available now.

The new version of uAlert also includes the ability to customize SMS headers. Previously, clients sending out a message needed to include a header. The new release allows the administrator to remove that header or customize it in order to gain back characters for the content of the message. SMS messages are limited to 160 characters each.

e2Campus uAlert provides a means for a campus to send out emergency or other notifications through multiple means--mobile and land phones, desktop pop-up, digital signage, e-mail, beacons, social media sites, Web sites, and other mechanisms.
