Tutor.com Releases Tutoring Service on iPad

An online real-person tutoring system has taken its services to Apple iOS devices. Tutor.com has launched Tutor.com To-Go, which makes homework help available on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. The mobile app is free for all Tutor.com account-holders.

Using their mobile devices, students can ask tutors questions, share resources, and take pictures of their assignment and send it to their tutors. All files are stored in a student "locker" online or on their device. Tutors can review files, share Web resources, and text chat with students. If the student is using the iPad specifically, he or she can share an interactive whiteboard with the tutor to collaborate on problems.

Sessions are automatically saved and available for a student to review from a mobile device or computer. Sessions can also be shared with teachers and parents. When students want to work on their own, they can tap into Tutor.com's online library of lessons, worksheets, videos, and test-preparation resources.

"Tutor.com has always been ahead of the curve when it comes to creating personalized, on-demand learning experiences for students," said George Cigale, founder and CEO of Tutor.com. "Our mobile solution is the next leap in empowering students to get live instruction whenever they need it."
