iPad Annotation Tool Expands PDF Manipulation Capabilities

An update has been released for Branchfire's iOS-based annotation tool for students and teachers, iAnnotate.

iAnnotate allows users to write and draw on a variety of document types, including PDF, Word documents, PowerPoint files, and image files. It also incorporates search tools; Dropbox, SkyDrive, and Google Drive integration; the ability to create PDFs from scratch; and integrated presentation capabilities.

The latest version, 2.7, adds the ability to rearrange pages in a PDF and includes a new wrist guard feature that creates safe zones for the user to rest his or her wrist while annotating.

Other features include:

  • Process status view;
  • The ability to left-align text in pop-up notes; and
  • Performance and stability improvements.

The full version of iAnnotate for iPad is available temporarily for $1.99 (through Sept. 13). After that, it will be $9.99.

A free, limited version of the app for Android is also available, with a full version on the way, according to Branchfire.
