Net3 Technology Unveils Education Cloud Services

Cloud-based server and data center platform provider Net3 Technology has launched a cloud platform specifically designed for school districts and higher education institutions. Available now, the Palmetto Virtual Data Center Education Pod was unveiled at the South Carolina EdTech Conference.

The Palmetto Virtual Data Center Education Pod is a secure, cloud-based environment designed for education accounts, according to the Greenville, SC-based company. The data center is a virtual environment that allows schools to create virtual machines and upload new ones. It provides access to cloud storage for laptop and desktop computers, servers, databases, tablets, and phones.

Features of the education pod include:

  • The ability to adjust and readjust the amount of storage space as needed;
  • Production servers;
  • Business and disaster recovery services;
  • Access to files from anywhere with Internet access; and
  • Development and testing services.

Net3's cloud suite includes products from Cisco, EMC, HP, Actifio, Tintri, and VMware. The education pod starts at $58 for a 1 GB server.

The South Carolina EdTech Conference is taking place in Greenville until Oct. 11. Representatives from Net3 can be found at booth number 333.
