ScienceDirect Now Optimized for Mobile

Elsevier has launched a mobile-optimized version of ScienceDirect, its full-text scientific database. The update provides a mobile-friendly interface for journal articles, designed for high readability and a streamlined page layout. Users who access ScienceDirect journal articles on a mobile device will automatically be directed to the mobile version.

The mobile interface is built to accommodate the high latency, low bandwidth and limited processing power of mobile devices. Features include simple browse, scan, read and save-for-later functions; fast navigation; access to similar results; easy access to references, the ability to view tables; and a pinch-to-zoom feature. Users can also open articles as a PDF and can export articles to Mendeley, RefWorks and in BibTeX format, among others.

For more information, visit the ScienceDirect site.
