Blackboard, FATV Partner on Financial Aid Video Services
Blackboard has partnered with FATV (Financial Aid TV) to provide current and prospective students with
on-demand access to financial aid and financial literacy videos.
With this partnership, students will have access to FATV's GetAnswers service through Blackboard Student Services using Blackboard SmartView technology. The FATV GetAnswers service
includes a customizable library of online video content about financial
aid, as well as tutorials. The service also offers multi-language video
content, video embedding, metrics and reporting. The partnership
is part of Blackboard Student Services' goal of "providing services and
technology that support students throughout their entire educational
journey," according to a news release.
Topics covered in FATV's GetAnswers videos include:
- Grants, loans and scholarships;
- Free application for federal student aid (FAFSA);
- Financial literacy;
- Master promissory note (MPN);
- Satisfactory academic progress (SAP);
- Tax and IRS information;
- Verification; and
- Information for veterans.
The
information is presented in a variety of formats, including short
question-and-answer video clips, step-by-step video tutorials and
humorous vignettes. Educational institutions also have the option of
including custom videos that address school-specific programs and
policies, and FATV's metrics provide insight into student interests and
questions. Videos are available in both English and Spanish, accessible
to students with disabilities and vetted by financial experts,
according to information on FATV's site.
Further information about the partnership between Blackboard and FATV can be found on FATV's site.
