How to Submit Story Ideas and Press Releases
Campus Technology provides an integrated channel of print, e-media, and conferences to efficiently reach top-level and managerial administrators, and tech-savvy faculty with buying authority in higher education institutions.
The Campus Technology media franchise consists of Campus Technology magazine, Campus-Technology.com, electronic newsletters, conferences, and targeted list rental opportunities.
Each issue contains feature articles, case studies, product reviews and profiles of technology use at the individual, departmental and institutional level. Featured topics include advanced networking, administrative systems, portals, security, electronic publishing, presentation technologies, course management systems, technology infrastructure and strategic IT planning. Our columnists, who are recognized experts in higher education technology, write monthly on the trends and issues most important to campus IT decision-makers.
How to Pitch Story Ideas
Advertisers have no advantage in editorial contribution; editorial decisions are based solely on the value of information to our readers.
Briefly, we look for real-life case studies and one-on-one interviews with higher education leaders and managers. There are also opportunities for editorial panelists, and for judges for surveys, critiques and award programs. In the case of contributed articles, the magazine encourages opinion submissions, which may be forwarded at any time, and will consider other articles for publication, provide a brief “pitch” or abstract is submitted first.
You may pitch directly to firstname.lastname@example.org. It is most helpful to pitch directly against a story slot on the current Editorial Calendar. Make sure to identify the editorial story slot in your subject box (e.g., “November Admissions Technology story”). Please allow 2-3 weeks for response to story pitches.
Article Lead Times
Feature articles are usually assigned at least three (3) months ahead of the issue date; opinion pieces may be submitted at any time.
