The University of California, Irvine has selected Camtasia Relay from TechSmith as its campus-wide lecture capture application. The deployment will be made available to 10,300 faculty and staff for creating lecture and instructional recordings.
"We were looking for a lecture capture solution that was affordable and simple to deploy campus-wide. Camtasia Relay fit those needs while also providing us with a solution that goes far beyond simple classroom capture," said Stephen Franklin, director of Academic Outreach, Office of IT. "With the help of TechSmith's excellent customer support, our IT department is able to offer an easy-to-use solution that enables faculty to record and share various types of presentations, tutorials and lectures anytime and anywhere."
Camtasia Relay allows the presenter to use a Mac OS X- or Windows-based system to record audio, video, and screen components. Viewers can watch or listen to recordings via learning management systems such as Blackboard, through iTunes U, or on mobile devices.
