Devolutions Revs Remote Desktop Manager

Devolutions has released the latest version of its remote desktop connection and credentials management tool, Remote Desktop Manager 8.1.

This is the first major release since RDM 8.0 came out last November with its new customizable user interface. According to the company, RDM 8.1 includes more than 100 new features, many of which were inspired by requests from the product's community, which is active on Devolutions' forum, blog, and social media sites.

Key features of Remote Desktop Manager 8.1 include:

  • Keyboard shortcut customization;
  • Citrix Web session support;
  • SQLite data source type;
  • Quick toolbar customization;
  • VisionApp vrb file format import;
  • VPN user specific setting support;
  • Enable/disable RDM smart sizing while connected;
  • Serial number import from .csv;
  • Automatic PVM close;
  • Domain variable support for SSH shell;
  • Export html/csv/xml for all types;
  • IE 10 emulation mode;
  • More proxy settings for SSH and Telnet; and
  • Support for large address aware system.

"Our vision with RDM is to give IT teams and pros a practical, simple, and time-saving tool they can use every day to control all of their remote connections and securely manage credentials and passwords," said David Hervieux, founder and CEO of Devolutions, in a prepared statement.

Devolutions RDM is available in standard and enterprise editions. Standard edition is free with no expiry date but has a reduced feature set. Current RDM Enterprise customers or subscribers to the company's maintenance program can download RDM 8.1 now.
