Montclair State U To Stream Smart Parking Data

Montclair State University is partnering with CASE Parking and Streetline to provide campus parking garage occupancy and guidance information for students, faculty, staff and visitors.

The smart parking technology will stream continuous, real-time counts of available parking at CarParc Diem, the university's 7.5-story, 1,532-car capacity parking structure, and will provide parking data and information for surrounding lots. Streetline's Parker smartphone app and ParkerMap web widget will inform drivers how many parking spaces are presently unoccupied and where the parking structure is located, as well as provide turn-by-turn directional guidance to the facility.

In addition, a customized web-based dashboard will provide university administrators with analytics on parking permit oversell ratios, helping help balance event and student parking occupancy.

"As CarParc Diem accommodates more than 1,500 cars, having technology to identify and navigate to available spaces makes campus parking significantly faster, easier and more enjoyable," said Ben Omuya, Montclair State's director of parking services, in a press release. "We absolutely look forward to rolling out this solution for the rest of the campus in the near future."
