Alloy Releases Navigator Enterprise 7

Alloy Software has released the latest version of its service desk and IT asset management solution for medium and large organizations, Alloy Navigator Enterprise 7.

According to the company, Alloy Navigator can help IT teams with incident and problem management, asset management, change management, knowledge management and organisation and content management, and it follows ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) principles, which are a set of IT service management principles for aligning IT services with business needs. Version 7 introduces an array of new features designed to improve the user experience for both IT staff and the people they support and automate processes.

New features in Alloy Navigator 7 include:

  • Service catalog and request management to separate routine requests, such as password resets, network share access and account modifications, from incident tickets;
  • Redesigned self-service portal, which can now adapt to different screen resolutions, and which lets people monitor ticket progress and search the knowledge base;
  • Stock management system for consumable IT items, such as printer ink, toner, batteries and other supplies, materials and spare parts;
  • Equipment reservations system, which lets people reserve equipment through the self-service portal and queues the requested equipment;
  • Integration with Microsoft Outlook, so IT staff can view Alloy Navigator tasks and events in their Outlook calendar;
  • Support for Windows Phone 8;
  • Automated report generator that schedules and e-mails reports;
  • Support for canned responses, such as standard replies, troubleshooting instructions and signatures in support tickets;
  • Data archiving and purging;
  • Wizard forms;
  • Ability to personalize dashboards and calendars; and
  • Automatic time tracking on projects.
