University of Tennessee Migrates to an Enterprise Content Management System
The University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN, will begin moving from the use of simple document
management
software to an enterprise content management system.
The university has selected OnBase
by Hyland, a
scalable enterprise
content management product designed to help organizations manage
documents and
data to streamline business operations.
The university
will begin by migrating all of its transcript processes over to the new
system
and then move on to its digital student records in a second phase.
University
representatives said one reason they chose OnBase is because it will be able
to
integrate with many of the school's currently used applications.
"Our
goal is to continuously improve our students' experiences with every
department," said University of Tennessee Chief Information Officer and
Assistant
Vice Chancellor Joel Reeves. "We are working with OnBase to give the
various
offices timely, consistent and secure access to the necessary student
information to achieve this goal."
OnBase
by Hyland offers clients a single enterprise information platform that
will
allow it to manage all of its content, processes and cases.
"The
implementation of OnBase supports industry trends for a flexible
enterprise
solution to create complete digital student files," said Hyland's
global portfolio
manager for higher education, Laurel Stiller.
The
platform provides enterprise content management, case management,
business
process management and records management and capture in one platform.
