Competition Offers Grants to Women Pursuing Careers in Tech

A competition for young women pursuing their dreams in technology will award 15 separate $2,000 grants to female students who are 18 and older.

The third annual "New Face of Tech" program is easy to enter. By Dec. 12, 2019, students upload a photo of themselves, state what their dream career is and share it with their friends online.

The program is run by the nonprofit 1,000 Dreams Fund and supported by audio electronics company Harman. 1,000 Dreams has set a goal of setting up scholarships funding for a thousand girls.

Besides the funding, the students who are chosen as winners also get a career coaching session with a Harman executive and a set of headphones or speakers from the company's JBL product line.

Entry information is available on the 1000 Dreams website.
