James Madison U Incorporates Job Feed into Undergrad Major Webpages
Students who view the webpages for each undergraduate major at James Madison University can now see a live feed of related job opportunities. The institution partnered with career community Handshake to help make it easier for students to discover career opportunities in their area of study.
The Handshake feed pulls in full-time jobs and internships matched with each major, viewable by students and prospects without the need to log in. When employers post job opportunities to Handshake, they can also designate specific colleges or universities where they want the postings to appear.
"Our recent ranking as the best college in Virginia for getting a job says a lot about how we do career services at JMU," said JMU President Jonathan Alger, in a statement. "We owe it to our students to continue to increase their career prospects. We believe in the education that our students are receiving at JMU and know that they are prepared to be successful in any setting they choose. This partnership with Handshake merely serves to match that preparation with opportunity in a new and innovative way."
