Free Python Class Teaches Data Wrangling

Students who have some familiarity with Python can hone their data manipulation skills through a free four-day course in July. The "Data Wrangling with Python Bootcamp" is being taught by an instructor from Data Society, a company that does corporate data science training, and hosted by Skillsoft, which maintains a learning platform.

The class runs for July 20-23 between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Eastern time. Sessions will be recorded and available on demand. Coverage will enable students to identify what data science is and why it's important, how to program proficiently in Python, do data mining in Python and NumPy and automate data cleaning and processing.

Participants should be familiar with Python programming, particularly the use of variables, main data types and data structures, control flow structures, conditional statements, "for" loops and list comprehensions and "while" loops and break/continue statements.

"By partnering with Skillsoft, we are collectively breaking down barriers in data science education and democratizing acquisition of these increasingly essential skills," said Merav Yuravlivker, CEO of Data Society, in a statement. "We've crafted Skillsoft's...Python bootcamp to ensure that learners receive a highly interactive experience and ample opportunities to apply practical programming skills that are foundational for data scientists to explore and analyze data."
