Samsung Intros New Android Interactive Display

Samsung Electronics America has introduced a new interactive display, model name “WAC” — the first Samsung interactive solution built on the Android operating system. The display enables an “intuitive user interface for educators to enrich the classroom experience right out of the box,” the company said.

Available in 65-, 75- and 86-inch models, the Samsung Interactive Display is an all-in-one collaboration hub touting simple and seamless connectivity, according to a news release.

Educators can wirelessly connect their own devices to the board regardless of OS or device manufacturer, and they can customize their home screen bar to quickly access their classroom apps and the display’s built-in tools, including a calculator, timer and screen recorder, Samsung said.

The Samsung Interactive Display allows simultaneous sharing of up to nine screens and multiple windows of content and has multi-touch capability allowing up to 20 users to simultaneously write or draw on the board with a specially designed pen or their fingers, the company said.

Each display comes with two pens with a double-sided nib for switching between the front pen and back highlighter without changing settings, according to the news release.
