The latest release of the Apple iMac G5 has consumers running to Apple stores and online. But although orders and shipments of the iMac G5 can take up to four weeks or more, it’s worth the wait, say iMac aficionados and converts. The new sleek design (much like that of the iPod) yields a space-saving and multi-functional desktop, and the wide-screen display is the main attraction, allowing for a picture-perfect view of photos and DVDs (courtesy of the multi-combo drive). Weight is definitely not an issue with Sony’s new 6-pound, 4-ounce projector, VPL-CS7. The VPL-CS7 saves valuable class-to-class time by providing an Off & Go function enabling users to unplug the unit and carry it away as soon as the presentation is over, without having to wait for the cooling fan to stop. And for added security, the password authentication system helps prevent unauthorized use and, potentially, theft. The VPL-CS7 is also HDTV/DTV-ready, allowing for a variety of presentation uses.
