Amazon Provides Hosted Storage Service
The University of California now uses Amazon.com’s new S3 service to save 60 million images at 15 cents per gigabyte per month. The service runs on top of the storage infrastructure on which Amazon runs its own Web sites and offers 99.99% availability. (Computerworld)
