U. of Chicago Forms Research Center for Financial Math

The University of Chicago said it would open a new research center for the advanced study of mathematics in the world of finance. The school said the center, a collaboration between its departments of mathematics, economics, and statistics, will be the first of its kind among leading universities.

The Research Center for Financial Mathematics will host workshops, lectures, and conferences on campus. Noteworthy researchers and financial industry executives will be invited to speak.
