U North Texas To Roll Out ImageNow for Document Management

The University of North Texas (UNT) in Denton has selected Perceptive Software's ImageNow application for an institution-wide document management project. UNT will initially roll out ImageNow in nine departments, ultimately implementing it across the university.

ImageNow enables users to fill out or extract data from printed or electronic documents and organize, review and route them as part of a business process. For example, an invoice can have metadata details such as vendor name and invoice number extracted and shared with other applications as needed. Also, the program includes annotation tools to add business information to documents.

"ImageNow will ultimately help us streamline processes and increase efficiencies campus-wide," said Tracy Hansen, system manager. "As we roll out ImageNow, it will help us free up space on campus and improve organization as well as add another level of document security."

The program includes a technology called LearnMode, which provides a non-programmatic integration of ImageNow with business applications. The vendor said in a statement that 325 higher education institutions use its software.

UNT has an enrollment of 34,000 students.
