Hudson County Community College Overhauls Student Lifecycle Management

Hudson County Community College will be implementing Colleague SQL from Datatel for student lifecycle management. The software will replace an aged student information system originally from SCT.

A component of the new system, Datatel's e-marketing software, will streamline the college's enrollment management process--handling prospect identification, recruitment, and alumni relationship development.

President Glen Gabert said Datatel was chosen because the company and its products offered an integrated suite of applications that would coordinate resources, information, and activities needed to administer the college's strategic enrollment process--from prospect identification and recruitment through alumni relationship development.

"Hudson County Community College is a student-focused institution, and Datatel's Strategic Academic Enterprise software centers around the core elements of student success--strategic enrollment management, strategic planning, teaching and learning, student services, financial aid, institutional advancement and marketing, and performance and operational management," Gabert said.

"This new system will provide a single, seamless, integrated information system that will enhance productivity, streamline processes and costs, and adapt flexibly as the college grows," said Board of Trustees Chair William Netchert. He said the conversion and implementation was expected to be completed by July 2010.

The college will also use SAP's BusinessObjects Crystal Enterprise XI for reporting and Microsoft FRx for financial analytics. Hudson will use Datatel consultants to help implement the new Colleague system.
