Siber Systems, which sells a utility to maintain passwords, logins, and identities, has introduced a version that also maintains the password information in an online "vault." RoboForm Online keeps passwords and other information in sync between multiple computers, provides a backup copy of passwords and identity information, and allows the user to access that information from any computer with an Internet connection.
"With users running more applications and storing more information in the cloud, strong passwords and the security to protect those passwords is more critical than ever before," said Bill Carey, vice president of marketing. "RoboForm Online is a breakthrough that balances convenience and accessibility with the tightest possible personal data protection."
RoboForm stores login credentials, including usernames, passwords, and login URLs, in encrypted files called Passcards. Each time the user requires access to passwords or logins, the program automatically retrieves the appropriate Passcard data. With RoboForm Online, users can access and manage their passwords and other essential information by logging into their online account. When a user adds, deletes, or otherwise changes the Passcard, the updates are synchronized in all locations where RoboForm is installed, as well as on the RoboForm Online server.
