New Tech-Laden Lectern Promotes Simplicity

Tecom's new TechPod Lite

A maker of high-tech lecterns has introduced one that doesn't require the instructor to set up a laptop computer to make presentations. Tecom's recently launched TechPod Lite features an ultra small form factor PC from Dell with plug and play capability.

To run a presentation, the instructor inserts a DVD or connects a USB device and clicks once to start the session. If the instructor wants to use his or her own laptop, the lectern includes a docking port and one-click switching feature.

The set-up also includes a 19-inch interactive screen with an adjustable mount, a keyboard in a drawer, and a mouse, as well as an integrated sound system. It comes with an interactive pen display that allows the presenter to make annotations to images and broadcast them to the audience.
