Corinthian Colleges Turn to the Cloud for Streamlined Procurement

Corinthian Colleges, a provider of post-secondary education services, will implement a cloud-based platform to streamline procurement across multiple locations.

The company, which serves 122 physical campus locations and has online degree offerings with more than 93,000 students, will move all operations in sourcing, orders, and payment to the cloud as part of an agreement with Ariba, a business commerce firm.

Ariba's Procure-To-Pay will be adopted by Corinthian to manage employee-made purchases from preferred vendors at special, contract pricing through a catalog system at any of Corinthian's 122 physical locations.

The goal of the move, according to information released by the company, is to realize increased savings for Corinthian by targeted purchasing and sourcing of needed products.

"Last year, our procurement and sourcing team delivered significant savings using a disciplined strategic sourcing process," said Ken Ord, chief administrative officer for Corinthian. "With Ariba's solutions in place, we can increase these savings over time."

The cloud-based technology integrates the functionality of separate Ariba products, including Ariba Buyer, Ariba Invoice, and Ariba Settlement, into one service.

In conjunction with Procure-To-Pay, Corinthian will also adopt Ariba Network, a collaboration tool for working with business partners on invoices and payment. Ariba Network will allow Corinthian to access finance management and collaboration tools on demand as well as to network and share best practices with other companies linked by Ariba Network.

"Corinthian has consistently invested in technology to enrich and expand its course offerings," said David Beaver, vice president of procurement and supply chain for Corinthian. "By applying the same principles to our procurement operations, we can improve our overall operational performance."
