NEXThink Delivers System Center 2012 Plug-in for Device Monitoring

NEXThink, whose primary product provides visibility into an IT environment from the end-user perspective, has just released its first native plug-in for Microsoft System Center 2012. System Center 2012, released to volume license customers in April 2012, is a platform to help IT administrators manage their environments, including the server infrastructure, cloud environments, and client devices.

NEXThink for System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) 2012 provides real-time updates to device configurations, including asset changes, status, usage, and other issues, from within an SCCM console. A "magic button" allows the administrator to query the system regarding a group of devices or a specific user's device to examine network activity, login boot time, printing information, and other health status data. SCCM 2012 was designed to better manage non-Microsoft devices, such as the iPad. The new NEXThink module is available now.

The company said it's developing a plug-in for System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) 2012, to do monitoring and alerting from within SCOM events and dashboards. The company said the SCOM plug-in would be available during the second quarter of 2012. During the second half of the year, NEXThink expected to release additional System Center 2012 plug-ins.
