Two Companies Streamline ERP and Digital Document Sharing

Parchment, which sells a platform for handling the electronic delivery of credentials, has added technology from IData, a company that creates middleware specifically for academic environments, to provide easier integration with school applications. The new middleware created for Parchment's Docufide will allow institutions to handle digital transcripts in their preferred data format and simplify the transmission and receipt of those documents.
Docufide consists of two modules: Sender and Receiver. Together, they automate processes involved in the request, capture, transformation, and delivery of verified electronic education credentials, such as transcripts.
IData's IDataHub is an integration layer that operates between a school's enterprise resource planning system and other software, such as Docufide. It works with enterprise resource planning and student information systems from Jenzabar, Datatel (now Ellucian), and Oracle PeopleSoft, among others.
By integrating Docufide into a student information system, an institution can process requests based on existing business rules, including automated approval or hold. When an exception is placed on an application, the system can send a notification to a staff member to review the request.
"Many student information systems have different data standards and rules, which creates a challenge for importing and exporting data to and from external sources," said Matthew Pittinsky, CEO of Parchment. "Not only is our integrated solution a time-saver, it also ensures timely access to credentials data to support data-driven decision-making among college administrators."
Docufide is in use at multiple institutions and systems, including Capella University, California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly), and City Colleges of Chicago. IData, which also only does institutional projects, has worked with Texas Wesleyan University, Kirkwood Community College, and Georgetown University.
