Pano System for Cloud/Terminal Services 2.0 Gets Improved Device Management, Endpoint Security

Pano Logic, a developer of zero client desktop virtualization products, is releasing Pano System for Cloud/Terminal Services 2.0, which enables organizations to connect legacy terminal services resources to current cloud-based computing resources. Pano System for Cloud/Terminal Services 2.0 is designed to make it easier for organizations to migrate to the cloud.

Pano System for Cloud/Terminal Services 2.0 enables Pano Zero Clients to function as endpoints for any server-hosted desktop computing system, including Citrix XenApp Server, Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 RDS, virtualized Windows desktops, and browser-based cloud desktops. Pano Zero Clients are true zero endpoint devices, with no processor, operating system, or moving parts, and they never store data or run software locally. Organizations can use Pano System for Cloud/Terminal Services 2.0 to migrate to Pano Zero Clients while maintaining their existing Citrix XenApp or Windows Server 2008 R2 RDS systems, according to Pano Logic.

Pano System for Cloud/Terminal Services 2.0 also includes free enrollment in Pano Cloud Portal, a cloud-based remote server management console that enables IT administrators to monitor and manage their Pano Zero Clients, Pano Virtual Clients, and cloud servers from anywhere, using an Internet-connected browser.

New features in Pano System for Cloud/Terminal Services 2.0 include:

  • Expanded client profile options to improve endpoint security and flexibility;
  • New controls for end users to manage device settings;
  • Automated software update capabilities for Linux, Google Chrome, and Pano components; and
  • Updated Pano Virtual Client for repurposing PCs as zero clients.
