Brief: U Texas-Pan American Deploys New Business Software

The University of Texas-Pan American (UTPA) has implemented new financial and human resources payroll software in an effort to accommodate expected growth in enrollment and the launch of new academic programs.

UTPA has deployed Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1. The university received approval earlier this year to merge with the University of Texas Brownsville and establish a medical school. UTPA plans to use the software to manage "accounts receivable, cash management and time entry for faculty and staff operations," for the newly combined institutions, according to a statement from Ciber, an IT consulting firm and member of Oracle Partner Network. Ciber worked with UTPA on the deployment.
