Florida Polytechnic University Adopts ERP System Ahead of 2014 Opening

Florida's newest university, Florida Polytechnic University, has chosen to deploy an enterprise resource planning system ahead of its August 2014 opening.

With a focus on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), Florida Poly chose CAMS Enterprise from Three Rivers Systems over other option such as Ellucian and Campus Management for its scalability, innovation, integration, quick implementation, and "robust functionality," according to a news release.

"We have a clean slate, and a much better understanding of how fast technology changes," said Ava Parker, chief operating officer at Florida Poly, in a prepared statement. "We are building a university that is nimble, and it will be able to adapt to a changing environment. As legacy universities grow, they have to change and undo old systems in order to be competitive. Florida Poly will start with state-of-the-art tools and a platform that supports change."

"We're building something unique, cutting-edge and quite special here," said Florida Poly CIO Tom Hull, in a release. "So we need a reliable, academic ERP that can implement quickly and easily scale with us as we grow."
