Brief: Louisiana State Launches New Researcher Database

Louisiana State University has introduced a new database that provides a list of the institution's faculty and their research areas. LSU Researcher Database, as it's named, is intended, the university said in a news brief, to illustrate its "research prowess" and to provide "opportunities for collaboration, student research, and other new endeavors."

Searches can be done by name, college, department, or focal area, such as "core computing/high performance computing" and "material sciences and engineering."

The Web-based service was developed by Gatorworks, a company founded by a graduate, former Louisiana State business student Brian Rodriguez.
