Florida Virtual Campus Launches State-Wide Online Course Catalog

The Florida Virtual Campus (FLVC) has launched the Distance Learning Course and Degree Program Catalog in an effort to improve student access and success.

"Students looking to earn a degree online, or to simply take an online course, are able to search courses offered by Florida's 28 public colleges and 12 public universities" through the catalog, according to a news release. "FLVC's Distance Learning Course and Degree Program Catalog will help students identify and learn about institutions offering online programs and complete the requirements of their chosen degree by allowing them to search for the appropriate courses, and ultimately provide them with a pathway to register for courses."

Available via the FLVC site and developed by AcademyOne, the catalog also features a dashboard for college and university administrators. The dashboard allows school representatives to manage and validate offerings, generate reports and add institutional profile information.

"This enhancement to the FLVC portal takes us one step closer to realizing our mission of making possible cross-institutional collaboration and increasing access to online teaching, learning and research tools that help all students complete their educational goals and succeed in the workplace," said Robin Donaldson, FLVC project manager, in a prepared statement. "It will be exciting as we move forward to provide even more functionality in the next phase of development."

FLVC is a service launched by the State University System of Florida and the Florida College System. For more information, or to access the Distance Learning Course and Degree Program Catalog, visit flvc.org.
