Small School Adopts ERP To Replace Homegrown System

A Pennsylvania university has adopted a new enterprise resource planning suite to replace a collection of home-grown programs. Misericordia University in Dallas, PA with 3,111 students will be moving to Jenzabar EX from Jenzabar.

"Along with the wide range of software and service offerings, Jenzabar is flexible in terms of matching their software with our current IT environment," said Director of IT Val Apanovich. "Jenzabar worked with us in determining the best overall solution and had a proven implementation process, clear product direction, strong client references and responsive staff."

The various modules of Jenzabar EX work from a central database built on Microsoft SQL Server. Modules are available for financial and accounting, human resources, payroll and personnel management as well as admissions, registration, student life, advising and alumni development.

The modular approach allows institutions to build their adoption of the software as their needs evolve. "The very detailed flash cut implementation methodology is a real plus for our university," noted Apanovich. "With Jenzabar, we can quickly move to a new solution without needing a significant number of new resources to maintain it."

Misericordia U will also be adopting the company's Internet Campus solution, a Web portal with a single sign-on for all users.

Other customers in higher education that have used Jenzabar EX include Florida's Chipola College and Berry College in Georgia.
