Texas Community College Network Selects eProcurement Service for Cooperative Purchasing

The Texas Association of Community Colleges (TACC) is contracting with a new e-procurement company to help its member schools cooperatively bid and contract for various products and services from vendors online.

TACC is a network that is open to all junior and community colleges in Texas, which administers its own purchasing cooperative. Members typically use it for their contracts as needed and to the frequency desired.

The contract, awarded to BidSync, was borne out of a competitive bid, as per state procurement laws, and will make all of BidSync’s web-based procurement services available to TACC members. Mostly the services allow member colleges to create and award bids, organize responses, and manage contracts.

"We conducted a very competitive solicitation process," said Charles Oberrender, CPPB, director of cooperative purchasing, Texas Association of Community Colleges in a statement. "We feel that BidSync's end-to-end e-procurement solutions will meet the needs of our member agencies and allow them to deploy solutions that will make a positive impact on their organizations."
