BenQ Unveils 2 New Ultra-Short Throw Projectors

BenQ has released the DLP-based MX852UST and MW853UST projectors, with throw ratios of 0.43 (MX852UST) and 0.35 (MW853UST). Designed for classroom use, both projectors are compatible with BenQ’s PointWrite™ technology. Both projectors are also equipped with BenQ’s Colorific™ image quality, capable of displaying 1.07 billion colors.

The XGA (MX852UST) and WXGA (MW853UST) devices have contrast ratios of 10,000:1 and deliver brightness of 3,000 and 3,2000 lumens, respectively.

Each projector uses BenQ’s SmartEco™ technology, which reduces power consumption by 70 percent via automatic lamp power adjustment based on precise brightness requirements. This allows for up to 7,000 hours of lamp life from each device’s 230W lamp.

Other features of both devices include the following:

• 140 perfect offset ±5 percent;
• ±40-degree vertical keystone correction;
• 3D, PC, and Blu-ray™ readiness;
• Double 10-W speakers; and
• LAN Control.

AV inputs include HDMI, Computer in (dual D-sub 15pin), Composite Video in (RCA), S-Video in (Mini DIN 4pin), and Audio in (Mini Jack). AV outputs include Monitor out (D-sub 15pin) and Audio out (Mini Jack).

At InfoComm 2014, the MW853UST was recognized with a New Bay Media Best of Show Award by AV Technology magazine.

Priced at $1,099 (MX852UST) and $1,249 (MW853UST), these projectors are now shipping in North America. Additional information can be found on BenQ’s website.
