Knewton and HP Introduce Customized, Personalized Print Learning Materials

Knewton and HP have announced Personalized Print Learning Solutions, a system designed to make adaptive learning materials available across print and digital platforms. The system will allow publishers to create personalized print chapters of textbooks, worksheets or assignments for schools that primarily rely on print textbooks. Students can learn using printed and/or digital adaptive content.

With the new solution, teachers will be able to assign print materials tagged by HP Link technology. Once a student completes his or her work, the student or teacher will scan it with a smartphone app that was developed based on HP mobile scanning technology.

From there, Knewton will consider the student’s past work, analyze the new information and determine useful strategies from the anonymized data of similar students to recommend content that the student should work on next. Knewton will assemble a new, individualized content packet or textbook chapter in real time for that student.

HP Inkjet Web Press and HP Indigo digital printing technology will allow students to have a chapter printed and delivered to their school or doorstep, and Web-connected HP printers will make it possible to print personalized worksheets locally in the classroom or at home.

The Personalized Print Learning Solution is currently under development for release during the 2015-2016 school year.
