E-Portfolio Tech to Help U Georgia Students Showcase Skills

Students at the University of Georgia can now highlight both academic skills and co-curricular work in a comprehensive e-portfolio. The university has partnered with Portfolium to roll out the company's e-portfolio technology at the 36,000-student institution.

With Portfolium, students can share their portfolios with peers and faculty and build a post-grad job network. The technology will "enhance the ability for University of Georgia students to stand out from the crowd in job searches by showcasing skills obtained through UGA co-curricular activities in addition to their academic accomplishments," according to a company news release.

"We view Portfolium's e-portfolios as great developmental instruments to help students share and expand their interests and talents with fellow students, faculty and potential employers," said Maggie O'Brien, career consultant at the University of Georgia, in a statement. "We prioritize student development and are always looking for ways to help students better understand the skills and competencies they gain throughout their time at UGA and feel Portfolium's user-friendliness and visual appeal will be a great tool to support this priority."
