Virtualization Rollout Lets Savannah State Students Access Learning Tools Any Time, Anywhere

Students at Georgia's Savannah State University can now get the apps and tools they need any time, anywhere and from any device through a secure hybrid cloud from U2 Cloud. Faced with growing enrollment and increasing lab complexity, the university turned to U2 Cloud to help "expand options for services to students, faculty and staff; enhance operational efficiency; and reduce costs," according to a news announcement.

U2 Cloud's Virtual Labs (Vlabs) desktop and app virtualization solution will allow students to access engineering and design apps such as AutoCAD, SPSS and Photoshop, as well as online collaboration tools, all from their preferred device. The technology will be available to 5,000 students, faculty and staff throughout Savannah State's undergraduate and graduate programs.

"With U2 Cloud, SSU can now easily reach beyond our physical campus borders to meet increasing e-learning demands and provide remote access to students, faculty, staff and alumni," said Patricia Ogden, director of technology support services at Savannah State University, in a statement.
